Kann man die Treppenlift-Kosten von der Steuer absetzen?

Der verbleibende Eigenanteil nach Abzug der Treppenlift Zuschüsse furch die Krankenkasse / Pflegeversicherung oder andere Förderer kann steuerlich geltend gemacht werden. Dazu wird der Betrag als außergewöhnliche Belastung in der Einkommenssteuererklärung angegeben. Weil das Finanzamt im Einzelfall Nachweise sehen will, sollten alle Originalrechnungen sowie der Nachweis über die medizinische Notwendigkeit gut aufbewahrt werden. Die Pflicht, dem Finanzamt ein ärztliches Attest vorzulegen, um den Treppenlift von der Steuer absetzen zu können, entfällt ab Pflegegrad 4.

Behinderten-Pauschbetrag

Menschen mit Behinderung können einen Behinderten-Pauschbetrag geltend machen. Je nach Grad der Behinderung liegt dieser zwischen 310 und 1.420 Euro pro Jahr. Bei Schwerbehinderten, in denen die Merkzeichen „H“ (Hilfslos) oder „Bl“ (Blind) eingetragen sind, liegt der Pauschbetrag bei 3.700 Euro. Weil die Kosten für einen Treppenlift deutlich über diesen Pauschbeträgen liegen werden, kann der restliche Eigenanteil zusätzlich als außergewöhnliche Belastung geltend gemacht werden.

Treppenlift-Modelle im Überblick

Treppenlift ist nicht gleich Treppenlift. Während Sitzlifter als Klassiker nur für Menschen geeignet sind, die sich aus eigener Kraft hinsetzen und ebenso leicht wieder aufstehen können, benötigen Rollstuhlfahrer meist einen Plattformlift mit befahrbarer Plattform. Ist zu wenig Platz für einen Plattformlift vorhanden, dienen Hängelifte als platzsparende Alternative. Für geringe Höhenunterschiede – vor allem im Außenbereich – eignen sich Hublifte.

Zahlt die Krankenkasse für einen Treppenlift?

Ab Pflegegrad 1 zahlt die Pflegeversicherung (ist der Krankenkasse angegliedert) bis zu 4.000 Euro pro Person für wohnumfeldverbessernde Maßnahmen. Falls mehrere pflegebedürftige Personen im gleichen Haushalt zusammenleben, wird der Zuschuss für bis zu vier Personen gewährt. Maximal beteiligt sich die Krankenkassen also mit bis zu 16.000 Euro den Kosten für einen Treppenlift. Vorsicht: Wurden bereits Teile des Betrags für andere barrierefreie Umbauten (z. B. ein barrierefreies Badezimmer) genutzt, verringert sich das Geld, das als Zuschuss für den Treppenlift Kauf genutzt werden kann. Übrigens: Der Zuschuss wird demnach auch für gebrauchte Treppenlift und die Treppenlift Miete gewährt.

Ein bestehender Pflegegrad ist die Voraussetzung für eine Kostenbeteiligung der Pflegekasse.
